I aim to purchase additional goats to expand my livestock, with the intention of them multiplying and providing financial support for my children's future school fees. Additionally, I plan to gradually acquire more building materials to continue the reconstruction of my house. Upon receiving the transfers, I remained resolute in my ambition to become a successful livestock farmer. I allocated $30 towards acquiring goats, envisioning their potential to multiply and secure a brighter future for my children. Recognizing the importance of education, I set aside $20 for my two children's school fees, ensuring they can continue their studies without interruption. In the face of immediate needs, I allocated $12 to purchase food, prioritizing my family's well-being amidst scarcity. Additionally, acknowledging the state of my worn-out clothing, I invested $10 in new clothes for myself, understanding the significance of self-care even amidst challenges. Furthermore, with determination to rebuild after our house collapsed, I allocated $30 towards purchasing building materials for our new home, acknowledging the necessity of a stable living environment. Despite the hurdles and uncertainties, each decision reflects my unwavering commitment to providing a better future for my family.

Due to chest complications, I am unable to engage in strenuous activities to earn income. Currently, the cash transfers serve as my primary source of financial support. I am grateful that they have helped support my husband's efforts in paying school fees for our children and ensuring there is food on the table. Looking ahead, recognizing that the cash transfers will eventually cease, I aspire to have established wealth through goat rearing. With two goats already acquired, my goal is to increase the number to at least 10. As these animals reproduce, I anticipate being able to sell them to meet the ongoing needs of my family.

The current structure that accommodates my two children is in a bad state as the roof has been letting in rainwater over the past week. This prompted them to move into my house, where they have been sharing space with my husband and me. I feel like this has deprived everyone of their private space, given the age differences between our children and us. Building a new house for them will be the best solution. Unfortunately prior to receiving the donations from the organization, it had actually been almost over a week since my son was kicked out of school because I had failed to pay for his tuition. That is why I immediately decided to go and pay KES 1,500 so that he could finally resume school. Afterwards I decided to spend KES 1,000 on purchasing two hens because I wanted to invest in poultry farming for commercial gain. I then ended up using the balance of KES 900 on nourishment purposes since we barely had any food so I bought five packets of maize flour.

I commend the organisation in educating us on how best to invest and keep the money safe from the fraudsters. However, I recommend that the organisation enrolls more people and help those languishing in poverty.

I spent a huge portion of my transfer amounting to KES 2500 to buy a goat. The main reason for buying the goat is to accumulate wealth. In our culture, wealth is measured by the number of livestock that one has. Once the goats multiply in numbers, the wealth will significantly increase. Besides buying the goat, I paid school fee arrears for my son who was at home after being sent home to pick school fee balances. He spent a whole week at home because i did not have money and neither did my husband. My husband is a casual laborer earning a living through the sale of charcoal. The demand for charcoal is very low making it hard to sell since the customers prefer to use alternative fuel such as firewood.

I was in the kitchen preparing lunch for my son. My son came running towards me from the house, holding my phone. He broke the good news that I had received my first transfer. I could not believe my years. For some seconds, I stood there motionless. I felt thrilled as tears of joy rolled down my cheeks. I called my husband and delivered the good news and he was happy too.
