How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I have constructed an iron roofed house which has releived me the burden of looking for thatch for renovating the house yearly. I feel happy and every day I wake up, I tell God thankyou and ask him to provide for GiveDirectly so that they can support more people.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well enroll women instead of men in polygamous families and the staff have a high degree of confidentiality. Every thing is good, there is nothing they did bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying materials that I used for completing the construction of an iron roofed house for my self.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Right from the day that I received te cash transfer, I felt very different. I feel very lively and super happy. I feel at peace because I able to purchase clothes and food for my family. Previously, I was hard up and I could not afford most basic needs such as food and clothes. We used to sleep on hand wooven mats and we could go hungry without food.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I recall I heard a message ringtone on my phone at around midnight. I was compelled to check who was calling me at that time. When I saw the mobile money message. I was very happy that GiveDirectly had suddenly saved me from abject poverty. I jubilated at the top of my voice and this woke up my neighbours who came running to my home inquiring what had happened. They were happy to learn that it was the GiveDirectly message that had excited me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent part of my cash transfers to purchase bricks worth UGX 265000. I also purchased two mattresses worth UGX 240000. I am planning to purchase other household items like clothes and other construction materials.
