"In my opinion, I like the idea being sent via mpesa because it minimizes theft and loss of the transfer unlike if it were cash. I suggest that the amount of the transfer be increased to enable us accomplish the various projects that we started and have stalled."

"GiveDirectly did well in sending recipients transfer and leaving to make their own decisions on how to spend the money. I have not seen anything they did not do well."

Rose
received a $469 third payment.
"I am currently living in a better house-a more secure one, more attractive and spacious enough for my household members. I believe that if it were not cash transfers from Give Directly, I wouldn't have been here, the house I live today."

Lilian
received a $468 third payment.
"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by embracing voluntary participation on enrolling recipients who were eligible for the transfers. However GiveDirectly did not do well since they never followed up recipients to their homes to see how the recipients spent the money."

Emily
received a $468 third payment.
"I spent my third transfer on repaying a loan that I had in our savings group, invested some amount in my business which is doing well and built a kitchen to have a separate cooking place. I also plastered my house and used most of the transfer on paying fees for my daughter who has just joined high school to proceed with her education."

Grace
received a $469 third payment.
"My life is different than it would have been without cash transfer in that I have established a source of income, courtesy of Give Directly, that supports my household needs as opposed to before then when I could beg to support my family. It is a livestock business and I am happy that it picked well-I sell cows, goats and sheep."

Wasingtone
received a $469 third payment.
"In my opinion, Give Directly has done perfectly well as compared to all the NGOs I have seen around the village. The fact that Give Directly offers unconditional cash transfers has greatly brought a difference with other organisations. People have varied needs and therefore giving them unconditional cash is the best decision ever. On the other hand, I feel that Give Directly should in future think of a way of pooling all the transfers and coming up with a project, say an industry, to create permanent job opportunities for the poor."
