Kadzo
received a $25 tenth payment.
"As my business thrives, I have set ambitious aspirations of purchasing a piece of land. My intention is to construct a comfortable home that can accommodate all members of my family. While I am currently residing on my father's land, the prospect of owning our own property brings me immense satisfaction and pride. It ensures a future inheritance for my children and provides a sense of security as I envision a peaceful life with my beloved family."

Gona
received a $25 fourteenth payment.
"I have always had a passion for electrical equipment and stuff, and since I was not fortunate enough to not finish secondary school, I am currently saving up to enroll in a course at a nearby polytechnic that will allow me to pursue this passion. Every month, I set aside some money to purchase goats. I currently have seven goats, and when the time comes, I'll sell them all and utilize the money to pay for my schooling. I am so optimistic that this dream will come to pass!"

Rukia
received a $25 tenth payment.
"My short-term goal is to purchase two or more oxen. The oxen will work on both my own farm and those of my neighbors, generating income for my family. My long-term goal is to purchase a small plot of land because we currently live on family property, which limits our ability to make decisions about how to run the farm."

received a $25 tenth payment.
"First and foremost, I want to express my happiness and gratitude for having the opportunity to join a hairdressing and beauty college through cash transfers. After finishing high school in 2020, I believed that my educational journey had come to an end due to the lack of funds. However, my hope was revived when I started receiving the cash transfers. Now, my goal is to complete my training by next year, after which I plan to establish my own hair salon business in my village. By opening this business, I not only aim to secure a stable income for myself but also provide convenient hairdressing services to members of my community."

"My husband is a mechanic by career and I am just a house wife. He lost his job since covid year and since then he has not secured a reliable job. This has caused lack of food in the family and sometimes our son fails to go to school due to lack of school fees. Lack of reliable source of income is the challenge I am facing in life."

Victor
received a $382 second payment.
"I used my money mainly for agricultural purposes and to improve my house. I have been doing casual labour in people’s farms as a farm hand and that gave me hands on skills for farming which I thought I could use to produce food for my family. I had a heifer which at the time had not been producing milk yet and I thought it wise to add another which already was producing milk and I spent $350 to buy a dairy cow that had just had a calf. I also bought seeds and paid people to till my land where I planted maize and beans. I also got a chance to put a ceiling in the house which I had built with my first transfers and bought chairs for the home."

"My hopes are very much on my business, I transitioned from hawking to now being in a stationery place. I sell some food such as some African pastries but their are others I did not have the tools to make such as flat bread also locally known as “Chapati”. I want to buy more things for the business to improve variety and also improve my sales"

Sharlet
received a $396 second payment.
"My husband lives in Malindi and he works in the area as a Public service vehicle(PSV) driver but he never gets steady jobs as he is a “squad driver”, meaning he only gets a chance to drive when the other drivers are unavailable. This has made it very difficult for our family to make ends meet. I do not have a source of income apart from periodic farming which is full dependent on teh rains. We had a plan with my husband to use the cash we would recieve in addition to what we had saved to buy a Public service vehicle(PSV) for him to use for business purposes. My husband is a member of a savings group know as the Imarika savings group where we intended to get the loan but we were informed that we could only get a loan of such an amount with at least $4000 in savings which we could not afford. We changed our mind and thought that we should opt for a motorcycle business. We have put $500 from our first transfer and our entire second transfer in savings to facilitate this. We are looking for a trusted person that we could employ to run the motorcycle business as my husband continues doing the driver work. We spent $11 to reduce our childrens school fee balance and $37 on food."

"GD thought about us because we were so hungry by giving us money instead of giving us food. If it has given us food that would not be a good idea because by giving us money we even bought other things that will help us in other days. Everything that GD has done is so good"
