"I am currently at home without a business, I have embarked on a new venture by investing in two goats. With a thoughtful plan in mind, I am now considering purchasing chickens to expand my animal care efforts. This strategic move not only provides me with the joy of tending to these animals but also offers a safety net during challenging times. Should any obstacles arise, I can rely on the option to sell these animals, resolving any difficulties that may come my way. This endeavor fills me with a sense of empowerment and optimism for the future, knowing that I have a practical solution within my grasp."

"Currently, I work as a motorcycle rider, facing uncertain earnings of $5 on some days and returning home empty-handed on others. My aspiration is to own my own motorcycle, as the one I currently use is borrowed from a friend. To achieve this goal, I am determined to save diligently until I can purchase my own motorcycle. Additionally, I plan to capitalize on the growth of my chicken flock, selling them when they reach maturity, and using the proceeds to contribute towards acquiring the motorcycle. This dual effort of saving and leveraging the potential of my poultry will pave the way for me to attain the independence and stability that owning a motorcycle can provide."

"I aim to improve my living standards by purchasing more chickens and utilizing their offspring to generate income. Once the chickens multiply, I will sell them and invest in goats. As the goats mature, I will sell them as well, using the profits to establish my own shop. Through this progression, my life will experience significant improvement, allowing me to cater to the needs of my neighbors and elevate my financial stability. This transformation will create a brighter and more prosperous future for my family."

"Food insecurity is the biggest challenge that I am currently experiencing in my household. Since I have no skills for a better job, this has forced me to remain focused on farming. This venture has not been reliable because of the prolonged droughts that we have experienced in the last 4 consecutive seasons. The lack of a good harvest means I have to engage myself in charcoal work to earn income. The struggle to meet my family's basic needs has made me do tougher tasks. What a life!"

"The pain of watching my children desperately when they are sent home from school is the worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. Since I have 7 children in school, catering for their fees is a big challenge. Sometimes, I feel like a burden on me because I still have to provide food for the family. Because I recently got work as a cleaner where I earn $200 per month, I usually find myself spending all my salary on clearing the previous month's bills. This leaves me with nothing to plan for other household needs. I, therefore, consider financial constraints as my biggest challenge."

"In the year 2021, my husband was paralyzed and this made him impossible to operate as a driver and he spent all his savings on medication. Currently, he is jobless at home since he is yet to fully recover. This has pushed me to assume his role as the family breadwinner and I depend majorly on my community health volunteer work. This work earns me some cash especially when we are called for training, hence I can not fully rely on it. Since I have 2 children in high school, they are usually affected because I do not have money to sustain them. Therefore, I consider the financial crisis as my biggest challenge."

"Some years back I lost my house to the rain. My house was so worn out and when the rain came it swept most of it away. I now live in my younger brothers house but with my big family the house is not sufficient. I have been buying material to allow me build a new house. Ihave bought iron sheets for a while now and will begin construction once I have a sufficient number of sheets. With earnings from my charcoal selling business I can only take care of the basics hence the house construction plan would not have been possible without Givedirectly."

"I started a grocery business when I began receiving transfers. I previously had no source of income and fully depended on my husband who at the time did casual work and hawked clothes. Starting the business brought a positive change in my life. I was able to earn my own income and support the family. My family was also able to access meals more often than they would before because of the business. I want to grow my business much more than it has grown so that I can continue to reap the benefits of having it such as education my children and feeding my family."

"I am a single mother with three children and two are school going. I live in my parents house and I depend on my mothers farming for income. I also have a grocery business which also supplements her income. I would like to get other sources of income as well as support my mothers farming. My plan is to get two cows by end year each at $20, a male and female cow. The male cow will mainly help with ploughing the farm lands. The dairy cow can be milked and the milk sold for profit. I also believe the dairy cow will also get calves which will add to our flock."
