My family used to eat once or twice sometimes but now i can afford three meals in a day. When i buy cows there shall be more difference especially after calving, the animals will multiply and i can sell some to offset family expenses. There shall also be milk for both home consuption and for sale."

Hellen
received a $477 initial payment.
"It's very good to see that my living conditions and and standards have changed. Formally, I was sleeping in a leaking semi petmanent house but Givedirectly through my first transfers had enabled me to buy cement to renovate the house I was sleeping in. I had also acquired household utensils in order to have hygienic living conditions that have been lacking in my home. When a vistor came to my home, I would feel a shamed to draw water for the visitor because I did not have presentable cups for drawing water. I used to sleep on the floor but now I sleep on a bed and my children are clothed well compared to the previous days."

Rose
received a $467 third payment.
"I spent my third transfer on buying building materials that I used to build a new house. My previous house was single room and was too squeezed for my family. I now have a three roomed house and apart from my family, my household items could now fit too. I also paid school fees for my daughter in secondary school. I am happy she is doing well in school. I pray to God that GiveDirectly may continue helping people like us."
