Monica
received a $482 third payment.
"My house was lit by tin lamp which was so dim, and so I spent part of my transfer on connecting my house to electric power. I no longer have to spend money even to charge phone like before. My son also sat his secondary education back in 2004, but he had not taken his certificate because of the pending fees arrears he owed the school, so some money I spent on clearing the arrears and now he has the certificate. The remaining I spent on food for my family consumption."

Caroline
received a $466 third payment.
"I bought building materials using my second transfer, so when I received my third transfer, I constructed a new house. I was in a very squeezed house. At the moment I live in a very spacious house. The remaining amount I spent on buying solar lamp given that I used to use a tin lamp and the cost of kerosene was so high. I am glad my children were able to study without fear of the lamp going off until they sat for their last exams in primary school."

"My third transfer really helped me a lot. This is after my daughter-in-law left with my 2 grandchildren since my son could not afford to pay her dowry. With the money, I managed to buy 2 bulls and used them to pay the dowry which enabled me to get back the daughter-in-law and the grand-children."

Emilly
received a $463 third payment.
"I have two children in secondary school. I have a relative who used to support me in school fees payment, so when I received my third transfer, I spent most of my third transfer on paying the fees. I did not have to borrow from her. My relative was even surprised that I did not ask her for any money this time around. The remaining I spent on starting a tailoring business where I get daily income to support my family."
