"Receiving this money means that my life will change for the better. I will restart a livestock business that will be a reliable source of income for my family. I have done this business before but because of insufficient funds, I failed. Restarting this business will sustain my family's basic needs among them: food and school fees. "

"The biggest hardship I have faced in life was losing my husband whom I relied on for provision of family's basic needs. I currently depend on farming which is not reliable because of the unpredictable seasons.Sometimes I am forced to seek casual jobs from my neighbors to get income in order to sustain my family especially paying school fees."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of stable source of income that can sustain my family. I only depend on subsistence farming and some income from my daughter who is doing casual job in Mombasa. These sources are not reliable and sometimes I fail to meet some of my family's basic needs among them: paying school fees for my children."

"Receiving this money is a great boost to my current farm work. I have been depending on rainfall which in most cases is unreliable and has led to dismal crop production.
Now that am going to receive GD transfers, I will be able to construct a mini water pan and purchase a water pump for easy irrigation. Again am looking into modern drought resistant crops that are viable in this region.
All that set, food insecurity and poverty will be something of the past."
