"My life has greatly improved in that, I have completed the construction of my permanent house. In addition, I paid off a debt that I never thought I would clear because of no money."

"My life is better because I bought a bull for ploughing my farm land with much more ease and efficiency. Before, It was hard and costly because I had to hire manual labourers to work for me. In addition, I repossessed the land which I will use to farm my crops. In the past I used to just rent gardens."

Kanze
enrolled.
"I am a widow who takes care of three orphans. With my old age, I have to work hard to provide all their basic needs without support from anyone else. The most pressing need is school fees which I cannot comfortably afford with my casual job of weaving ropes. I desire to give them a better future through education so that they can explore job opportunities in the corporate world. Once they are employed, they will live a descent life and also take care of me. Therefore, receiving this transfer means purchasing livestock that I will rear in oder to finance their education up to their desired level."

Kadii

"My husband is too old to work and he has left the responsibility of raising the children to us. My co-wife and I rely mostly on casual jobs such as burning charcoal and weaving. Such jobs do not provide a stable income and it is almost impossible to provide basic needs for our children. In this regard, we are unable to provide enough food and sometimes we are forced to stay hungry. Taking children to school is also a challenge as we cannot afford to raise the 200 shillings required to facilitate their education in a month. Life is quite unbearable and I consider financial constraint as the biggest hardship."

"My life is better now because, My standards of living have improved in terms of feeding resulting to a healthier life. I have started a livestock business with the transfers and I'm able to earn daily income that supports my household. I also bought a motorbike that has helped me run my business smoothly and avoid high costs of transport. I managed to pay off the land mortgage acquired by my father.
Before receiving these transfers, I was burdened by school fees, feeding and I did not have enough land to farm on and I could not produce enough food to feed my household."
