"I did not have any livestock in my homestead. Even just looking at my financial status, it would have been expensive for me even to buy any kind of livestock. Thanks to GiveDirectly because I now have three cows. My expectation is that these cows will reproduce and have many of them. I also wanted to start a tailoring shop but due to lack of resources, I wouldn't have opened. But as at now, I bought a new sewing machine and some textile materials to start with. This is a source of income which will help me even in fulfilling my family's basic needs with ease."

"My life is currently different because the money has enabled me to buy livestock, which include a heifer, and pair of oxen that I am currently keeping in my homestead. I would not have achieved to buy these at my cost. It would have taken me years to have them. Besides these livestock being assets to me, they will also help me in my farming. I have also been able to clear school fees for my children on time and they have been allowed to school to continue with their studies without any interruptions."

"My life is currently different because at least I now own livestock that I did not have before the coming of GiveDirectly. I now have a pair of oxen to aid me in doing my farming timely for better harvests. I am also in a position to utilize my whole acreage unlike before when I could only plough a smaller piece of land. Besides, I also have a heifer, which am expecting it to multiply, and with time, I will be benefiting from the milk that it will be producing. I also cleared the fee arrears for my children in highschool. I am happy they are now comfortable continuing with their studies."

"My life is so different it would have been if I ever received the transfers. I used to sleep on an old mattress which was so uncomfortable, the house we were living in was old and grass-thatched, and I struggled to raise school fees for my children. But now I am reading from a different script. I have managed to build a better house, I bought a high-density mattress, and as a family, we own a motorcycle which generates revenue and school fees is no longer an issue. We are one happy family thanks to GD's unconditional cash transfers."

"I majorly depend on subsistence farming which has not been doing well enough to cater for both household daily needs and any other goal in the family. I have children in various schools and my biggest ambition is to see them prosper in their education to allow them to have a better life in the future. Raising their school fees is challenging for me due to the limited resources in our family. Currently keeping heifers with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me a the biggest difference in my daily life. I will have offsprings which to me I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. To me having these two heifers in my compound is the biggest difference in my daily life. It gives hope that I can always provide for my family."
