"For the past 10 years, food insecurity has been the biggest hardship we face in my family. The 1.3 acre piece of land I own yields only 1.5 bags of maize seasonally and this take us through three months only. In this case therefore, I constantly toil hard engaging in casual jobs in people's farms for the rest of the year so as to provide food for my family. These jobs drains off my energy hence my health keeps on deteriorating daily."

"Though I majorly depend on farming, our climatical condition is not good enough to offers us good yields. In my family no year goes without us lacking food at some point. The hardest hardship I have ever faced in my life is lack of enough resources to support my family needs. Some years back I got myself into domestic conflict due scrambling of small trees in our community to burn charcoal in order to put food on my family's table. I deeply regret the incident but I couldn't let my family lack the daily basic needs."

"I was raised up by a single dad after he separated with my mother. I am the first born of the 4 siblings I have. I was 15 years old when my mother left and I had to do all the house hold chores by myself. I was always late for school since I had to prepare my younger siblings for school and leave the house when food was ready for them. This really affected my studies. Sometimes I skipped school because I always received punishment for being late. This was the biggest hardship in my life."

"I have been buying milk for my children since when I established this household and I would like to purchase a good dairy cow so that we can obtain milk easily. Currently I buy the milk at USD 0.50 daily for one litre which is quite expensive for us since I do not have a job or good business. Sometimes when we cannot afford our nutrition as a family detororiates."
