What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I used the whole of it to pay dowry. Before then, we (me together with my wife) were living in " a come-we-stay" kind of relationship which was not considered a legitimate marriage in my tribe and again, it is something that is frowned upon by the community members. We were not at ease at all till we settled it courtesy of Give Directly.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received transfers from Give Directly in that currently, I live in a better house-one which is more attractive and conducive for living. Besides these mentioned, we no longer stay in the dark since we acquired a solar panel that we endlessly consume. Generally, these accounts for my improved living standard.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly does well is the way its officials talk to the community members-they are exemplary articulate but I would ask Give Directly to consider giving us money on a monthly basis for some considerable amount of time to enable us make a step further in life.
