What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to clear college fees arrears for my son who was taking a diploma course in mechanical engineering. I am happy he is able to get his clearance certification and will soon join the university for a degree. The remaining amount I spent on plastering my house. At least my wife can now rest from the norm of smearing the house with cow dung more frequently.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to see my children pass through the very vital stages of their lives that could have not been a success without the transfers from GiveDirectly. I was able to celebrate my elder son's pass out after graduating from the military college and has been posted to serve the country as a soldier, using the first transfer. My other son has also been able to get his diploma certificate and is now ready join the university using the second transfer.Thank You So much GiveDirectly!! My family and I are very grateful.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on my son's pass out function that took place in Nairobi. I hired a vehicle that could accommodate quite a number of family members to help us celebrate together with the son who despite the challenges faced in military training, persevered till the end of it. That was the best appreciation I could offer him. I thank GiveDirectly for this.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy when I received my transfer as I was seriously stuck on how I would raise cash to cater for all the expenses pertaining my son's pass out ceremony.

My biggest hardship is finding water for my livestock because of the prolonged drought. We now have to buy water when I am financially unstable.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am most happy when I am of good health and with money to sort my issues but I can't be specific on the part of the day this can be because it really varies.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to cement the walls of my house so as to rest the tiresome job of frequent repairs. I will also be able to settle part of college fees for my children.
