Gladys
received a $526 second payment.
"I have a son who has been pursuing his university education for six years now. We have had school fees challenge that has seen him on and off in his studies. At one time he was almost giving up in his dream of completing his university education and possibly getting employed. I encouraged him to keep his hope alive despite the fact that I knew it was going to be difficult to get the money that he badly needed to complete his education. It is through the GiveDirectly transfers that he has been able to continue with his studies and is due to graduate in the next couple of months. He is so happy as well as I am. This would have been impossible without the help of GiveDirectly transfers."

"GiveDirectly has given poor people like us an opportunity also to have ability of getting things which to them, are left for those who are perceived in the society to be of high class. What people have done, is a clear indication that every body are entitled to better life, every parent needs his children to have quality education. And every body could possess anything depending on how much resources some one has.
To me, there is nothing organization should improve on. It has good structure, well disciplined staff and good Public Relations."

Joseph
received a $526 second payment.
"GiveDirectly has given us the equal chance to access the money resource unconditionally. People have used the transfer to address various economic issues, and economic transformation has been far realized. I am sure that, after sometimes, the impact of the program will be noticed. People have taken their children to school with ease, and education is a long term investment. some who were sick are now alive because of the program.
The organization should have extended the program to a longer period for maximum benefit, unlike now where it's once and for all."

Rehema
received a $526 second payment.
"My life is very different in that I managed to renovate the roof of my house which was grass thatched, leaky and old with an iron sheet one. I have stress free nights unlike before when I used to beg for sleeping spaces in other people's houses during rainy seasons. Sometimes, we could be forced to converge at a corner with my husband and children since almost every part of the roof was leaky. This even exposed us to cold related diseases like pneumonia that made us weak and unable to execute our daily chores with vigour. I paid school fees for my three children who are in both secondary level and vocational training institution. Education is the best inheritance I could give to them and I hope that they could lead a better life that mine. I used the remaining part of the transfer to invest in sugarcane farming which gives me hope for the future. I believe to harvest in the next two years and save for the advancement of my children education to university level. Thanks to GiveDirectly transfers that came handy at real time of need."

James
received a $526 second payment.
"My life is very different in that I managed to clear fees arrears for my brother who is in secondary level. He was known as a person who could drop out of school anytime as poverty was obvious and the order of the day. He was almost losing hope in education as he was being kicked out of class due to lack of school fees. This made him lose lessons and exams as well and really discouraging. For the first time, he was congratulated as one of the students with responsible parents to have cleared fees arrears in advance. I feel honoured as well of being a responsible brother and always gets encouraged when I see his improvements in academic performance. I am an investor and not a casual labor when it comes to sugarcane farming which is the main and rewarding economic activity in this region. The two hectares of sugarcane farm that I own give me hope for financial flow and economic empowerment for the better. Thanks to GiveDirectly transfers."

Caroline
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"My family's food supply has never dwindled over the last month. I bought enough foodstuffs in \jnaurry that I just keep replenishing every month using the transfers. My children are well fed because I provide proper meals using the transfers I get and from the constant milk supply that is resulted from the transfers. another effect is on their education. I have fully paid their fees and they are currently learning without any interruptions. The financial success that I enjoy would no that been possible were it not for GiveDirectly."

Francis
received a $50 fourth payment.
"My goal now that I have started receiving the money is to expand my business. I will continue doing my casual work at the construction site until around three o'clock in the evening and open my business afterward. This will help me earn more income daily which I will be able to use in supporting my family needs. I am planning to leave the construction work when my business is stable so that I can concentrate on it more. I will also be saving some money which I will later use on my children's education."

Edna
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"The biggest difference in the last four months is in my children's' education. The money I received is used in paying school fees. It has allowed me to keep them in the private school where they attend. I am happy because I can afford the school that gives them a higher quality of education. I am happy because it means that they will have a fruitful academic life. If I had not used the last four months' transfers, I would have had to change their school and they could now be attending a puplic school run by governing, it and this would have doomed my hopes."

Mark
received a $528 second payment.
"My life is really different since I received the transfers. I am at peace with myself. I have no worries on raising fees for my son. This gives me hope and courage as a responsible parent who cares and provides for his children. I bought two cows that will eventually provide me with milk and ghee, that will add to my household food security and nutrition. I also intend to sell the surplus to the neighbours and this will boost my economic power and cash flow for daily need. I shall save some money to meet education needs for my son when he advances to college level. I managed to invest in sugarcane farming which in the next twelve months will mature and get harvested. I feel encouraged to face life with hope. Stress and worries are things of the past. I look healthy and strong, not the malnourished beggar who could walk door to door asking for remnants of food when hungry. Thanks to GiveDirectly transfers."
