"I am a happy woman owing to the fact that GiveDirectly has come to my rescue from a miserable life. Being in a polygamous household with 22 members and the husband is blind, each wife is forced to work on her own in order to feed and educate the children. With my little effort, I have managed to educate my children only up to primary level with some dropping out at standard five since I only depend on selling palm wine. This job is not reliable to support my family's needs. However, with the help of GiveDirectly's cash transfers, I plan to support my son's education and also to start another decent business to replace the one I currently do. The remaining transfer will aid in shop business so that I get a stable source of income. This will change my life for the better and basically it is what receiving this money means to me."

"The biggest difference in my daily life ever since I started receiving transfers from Give Directly is that I have been able to pay my sons school fees. Nowadays he is rarely sent home due to huge fee arrears. I normally use my monthly transfer to pay his school fees and I am glad that the money came at a time when my child was joining a secondary school. It is my pride to see him in secondary school since he is my first child to reach this level of education. I am not sure how I would have managed to pay his school fees but I thank God that Give Directly chose me as one of their beneficiaries. I am also happy that my family and I were able to buy new clothes after a very long time. It is usually hard to have enough money to buy their clothes often."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to get back to school and do Records and Management course. I sat for Uganda Certificate of Education in 2016 but I lacked money to continue to the next level so I stayed home. When I receive this money, I should be able to get a paper with which I can get a job that pays for my services. This will make me a better person. "

"When I receive this money, I will pay for our children's school because they are in private schools. We decided to take them to private schools because they teach well though its expensive in terms of payment. So this money will help relieve that burden partly. I will also start a cattle selling business to sustain the family's basic needs like Education, proper feeding, medical care and other necessities."

"When I started receiving these transfers, I had a house that was under construction. It had stalled for many years due to lack of enough funds that could enable me to bring it into its completion. The little money that I got was just enough to buy food for the family while the remainder was always saved to help pay school fees for my daughter who was in college then. My daughter has cleared her education and because of this, I have been able to divert all the resources into bringing the new house to its completion. This has been the biggest difference in my daily life over the past four months."

"I have no new goal as per now but rather to I plan to focus on educating my daughter who is in high school at the moment by paying her school fees. This is because I believe with GiveDirectly transfers, I will be able to educate her up to the university level which is my dream. After completing her education she will secure a well-paying job which will help her support her family in the future."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to meet my daily needs including paying school fees for my children and food for the household. My eldest child is in a good private school which is more expensive than the government schools. The quality of education in this institution is higher and is only possible because of the money from GiveDirectly. I need to be paying school fees for her because it is laying a good academic foundation that's been my dream for my children. I am happy that GiveDriectly has made me able to achieve this goal."

"In the next six months I expect my life shall have changed in that I shall have acquired a title deed for our farm. Getting a title deed for any piece of land bought can be hard sometimes but I am optimistic that we shall be able to raise the money needed to process it and be able to acquire. It is then hat we can be able to make decisions on how to put the piece of land into good use. In the next six months, my two children shall have as well cleared their secondary education and we will be making preparations for them to join tertiary institutions. This requires a lot of money and we are thinking about how to raise the money."

"Dropping out of school due to lack of financial support is an unimaginable thing to any child who values education. This is what happened to me four years ago when I was in class seven. My parents could not meet my educational needs together with that of my siblings. We all ended up quitting school, a situation that crushed our dreams of attaining the highest level of education and subsequently bettering our lives and that of our children. But look at me now, a mother of two at the age of nineteen, married to a motorbike rider. I am glad things are going to be better once I receive my transfers, I will ensure my children never lack school fee by investing in livestock rearing. With my tailoring business up and running, life is going to be better."
