"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is paying school fees for my children. I am the sole bread winner in my family. I provide food for my children with the little money I get from casual labour. This leaves me with less money to pay school fees for my children. Further more education cost has really gone up."

"The achievement that am proudest of is the ability to proceed to my secondary education. I never thought I would join form one since my parents were so poor that they were not able to pay my school fees. It is by the grace of God that I was able to join form one and this made me so happy. I am particularly grateful to my neighbours who organised an harambee for me and made sure that I continued with my studies. Once in a while I have fee problem but am proud that I am almost done with my secondary education."

"The achievement I am proudest of in my life, was being the first person in my family to complete secondary education since most of my siblings dropped out of school at primary level due to lack of school fees and early pregnancy."

"Since my husband left us, it has been a big challenge to me and the kids, since bringing up the children alone as a widower is tough. I have always worked hard to ensure all their needs are fulfilled especially education, food and clothing's. Seeing my children grown to be what they are at the moment makes me feel proud of myself."

"The achievement I am so proud of is successfully completing my O level education, its hard for a girl from the village to achieve this kind of level as most drop out of school for early marriages because girl child education is not that valued in my community."

"The achievement I am proud of is being able to provide education for my children even though I struggled alot to pay the school fee since I only depend on subsistence farming as a source of income. So far, four of them are done with their college education and they have secured jobs. As a parent, feel that is the best thing you can offer to your children."
