Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Givedirectly money has enabled me to put my home in the map of the village. After plastering, it has become visible, beautiful and strong. Before getting the transfer, the water could enter the house through the open holes on the wall whenever it rained and it was weakening each day.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I saw the mobile money message, I felt happiness in my heart. I woke my wife up to let her know that the money was on phone. She did not believe until she saw the message, she became so happy after confirming.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my first transfer for buying a trip of sand at UGX 95,000, 10 bags of cement at UGX 250,000 that I used for plastering my house. I bought clothes, music woofer, a mattress, 2 pairs of bed sheets, a table set, utensils and food. I paid the builders and saved some money in the Village saving and the loans association.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to pay school fees for my children in time. I struggle to pay school fees with the little money I get from te sale of agricultural products. I will build a permanent house that will house visitors when they come. I will improve on my living conditions because I do not share with visitors the same house. In case of any balance, I will buy a heifer that will act as an investment to the household during the time for news.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is a round 11:00am when I have completed garden work. It leaves me happy because I am sure I have completed the main activity for the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a clear source of income. I depend on farming but it is not reliable. Having access to disposable income is twice a year and that is based on the season. In seasons of good harvest, I have disposable income and in seasons of poor harvest, I do not have enough disposable income.
