Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My plan is to continue ensuring that my children's school fees are paid to ensure that they their education is not disrupted.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the joy that I have knowing that my children would not drop out of school. I have several children in school, all depending on me for their school fees and other requirements. The little I get from my dairy farming and casual jobs cannot meet all these needs. These transfers has ensured that all my children continues with their eduction and I am confident that all will finish their education.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is for my children, especially my daughter who is sitting her national examinations this year, to have minimal disruption in school. I want to ensure to have cleared paying her school fees and allow her an ample to prepare for the exams.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I am now able to pay school fees for my two children who will be sitting for their exams this year. I recently lost my husband and it has been very difficult adjusting emotionally and financially since he played a big role in this family. I feel relieved because there was a probability that my kids would not finish school because of this.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to buy a sheep for rearing. I have always believed that sheep are the most valuable asset once can ever invest in. They usually require less attention and their food are always available. Apart from that, they are also very marketable. They also have a short gestation period which means within a span of one year, I will be having several lambs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life ever since Give Directly came into my life is that I am able to meet our daily needs such as food. Previously providing food was hard sometimes since I am a widow and all responsibilities are on me. To add on that, I don't have a reliable source of income. Life had become difficult and I was almost giving up. I am glad that my children will never sleep hungry. I am in the process of planning myself such that by the time Give Directly's program comes to the end, I will have established an income-generating activity
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to ensure that I pay all my children's school fees on time. I am hopeful that they will pass their exams and have a better future. I don't want to shatter their dreams by failing them as a parent. I am glad that Give Directly chose me as one of their beneficiaries and I am now able to pay their school fees with ease.

School fees have been my biggest worry. When Give Directly came and gave us the cash transfers I decided to take the whole amount and paid the full amount of fees for this term. Now I can focus on other farm activities which can help me raise school fees for other terms and also be able to meet our family needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to save my monthly transfers in the next four months. I am planning to start doing poultry farming. I have always wanted to keep poultry but since it requires a lot of capital I was not able to start it soon enough. I want to start this business so that it can boost me financially and enable to sustain my family's needs. I feel this business is more efficient because I can either sell the eggs or the chicken when I got an emergency which needs some cash.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that now I am able to comfortably pay school fees for my children. I initially had to sell a plot to get money in the name of looking for money to pay school fees. The money was over before they even got to fourth from. I have three children in high school but I believe they will not drop out of school now that I have three sources of income.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would like to Improve my farming so that we can get food for the family and the surplus I would sell to raise money for paying school fees for my children.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that we now have enough and healthy food for me and my children. Before I started receiving these transfers, I could sometimes work as a casual laborer for a long time and still earn so little that may not be enough for a day's basic consumption. I am happy and do not worry because even if I am not lucky to earn some money at the end of a day, I can still feed my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect that in the next few months, my maize will do well because I planted a good breed and that When we hatrvest, I will have enough food for a better part of the year. I also expect my children to study well and I have hope that they will pass. I want our lifestyle to improve
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
When I received Decembers transfer, bought and planted hybrid maize seeds and planted a good size of land. Before, I used to plant local maize in a smllpiece of land ass we had no money to get a tractor and till a larger area and this resulted in low yield and hence little food for us.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I am planning to improve my poultry farm. Right now I have a small poultry house keep afew chicken and I have planned to build a bigger house and buy more chicken to rear. Poultry keeping does not require so much capital to start and does not require so much skills to run.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is keeping my family at peace. Being in a polygamous marriage has been a hardship in the recent past with children in serious rivalries.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I gather my family to give thanks to God, having given us the strength to endure the day.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on starting a new business, that is chicken farming. I will also spend my transfer on paying school fees for my kids.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is having build a house for my family. I also sold a piece of land and bought another which was bigger. The remainder of the money was used to start farming in the new land.
