How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I had a plan to start fruit juice business, I had bought blending machine because that was the kind of business I was doing before getting married, and since there was no electricity in my house, it seemed to be difficult to implement the idea. Now I have started the business and it's paying. I believe that out of this business, I will be able to provide for the family, both for family needs and savings for the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has pulled us to a certain level economically. I could have not made it in the Hospital without money and my husband's effort to raised money for the same was paralyzed. Instead, it resulted to gossip within the village. I also managed to do electric installation in my house for electricity. With this, I will be able to have power to help me in fruit blending to produce juice to sell within the local market.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on hospital bill, Electric installation for my house and School fees. I was sick and admitted in the hospital for three weeks, and the medical bill was needed to be paid before I was discharged. There was no source of money to pay the bill and I don't know how the situation might have been were it not for GD transfer. I also did electric installation in my house being that I had already applied for electricity.
