Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to save money on paying school fees for my children. Two who are in form three and two respectively, and the last born who is a candidate sitting for his KCPE this year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference is that I have been able to build an iron sheet roofed house. This was necessary because I lived in a grass thatched house, it was comfortable and very warm but of late, the grass is scarce and this makes repair of the roof difficult causing leakage when it rains. This forced me to replace the grass with iron sheets to curb the leakages and also enhance comfort.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I trust God that I will have saved money for school fees and I will also be completely through with the construction of my house.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have been saving the little I get from the casual jobs that I always do and supplementing with GiveDirectly transfers. I am hopeful that having double savings will enable me to get enough resources faster to build a new house that I have always desired for a longer period of time.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months I do not have any additional goal but rather focus more on purchasing iron sheets in bits and other building materials which I intend to use in building a new house. At the moment stay in my current house worries me because it has served for a long time now at now making it be in a bad condition.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is the pride I have for seeing the dream I have ever longed of coming true having. I have always wanted to own a new house because the one I have now is old and in a bad state which doesn't warrant anyone to stay in. In order to achieve this, I have been saving the little I get from the casual jobs and supplements from GiveDirectly transfers. Today, I'm happy and I feel proud since my certainty to own a new house sounds real.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to build a new house in the next six months after mobilized enough resources from the monthly transfers. When this goal shall have actualized I will be very grateful and happy since the challenges such as staying up the whole night when it rains to put our property in a safe place to avoid them being soaked in water from the leaky roof will come to an end.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been financially stable ever since Give Directly came into my life. I rarely get broke like I used to be because I now have to sources of income. I usually do casual jobs to supplement what I normally get from GiveDirectly. The financial stability has made me achieve various goals like recently I bought a cow. I am so proud of my self for having bought this because I always consider cattle as assets. They usually have many advantages such as producing manure, milk and multiply within a short period of time. Such benefits usually raise living standards of homesteads in miraculous ways.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I'm currently purchasing iron sheets in bits because I am planning to renovate the house I am currently living in. This house has served me for a long time now and some areas need to be repaired. I don't intend to build a new house because it is still in good condition apart from the few areas that need repair. For instance, the roof is made of grass which usually leaks during the rainy season. I have not been able to replace the roof because the kind of grass used to make the roof is rare to find. This kind of species has been depleted because people have shifted to using iron sheets, therefore, these bushes were cleared and the land used for different purposes. So for the next four months of my life, my additional goal is to save enough money which will cater to doing repair and fixing the iron sheets.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is the pride I have for having achieved one of my goals. I have always wanted to own a cow because of the benefits that it comes with it. For the longest time now I have been saving the little I get from the casual jobs that I always do. I did not hesitate to buy it once I got the chance to finally have it after Give Directly started giving us the unconditional transfers. I'm happy and I feel proud about this decision because I'm already benefiting from manure from the cow. I am hopeful it will reproduce with time and later fill my cattle shed. Apart from that, I will also have enough milk for my family and in case there will be a surplus I'll sell a few liters to the neighboring villages.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Having shelter is one of the most important necessities in human life. Lacking it can be frustrating and dehumanizing at the same time. I have been in this situation for a so long and I can't wait to one day own a home. So in the next six months, I am planning to save money for buying building material. I expect to have constructed a decent house and forget the long-suffering I have had for the past years

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I am able to meet the basic needs of my household members. Bringing food to the table used to be a great challenge since I did not have a reliable source of income. I am grateful for GiveDirectly because I can manage to pay my children school fees on time as well as get enough money to make sure we at least have a meal at the end of each day.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in the next four months is to start a business where I can sell household items. This would be my additional source of income alongside farming. Having an additional source of income will enable me to meet most of my basic needs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the past four months is being able to pay fees with much ease. I was not able to pay a fee on time and would have so many debts which I took to pay a fee for my children. My children used to stay at home for a long time while I looked for money to take them back to school after being sent home to collect fee balances. I feel so happy that I am able to give my children the best education I can afford and very optimistic that they will be better and wiser people in future.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to build a new house in the next six months. This would be the biggest change in my life because I currently live in a small house which is too squeezed for my big family. I have teenage daughters who should be having their own room to enhance their privacy but since the house is too small there is very minimal to keep private which is so shameful. I am hopeful that in the next six months I shall have mobilized enough resources to start building a bigger house.
