How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that my living standards have improved and I have become so comfortable, no stress about how to meet my needs and so healthy. Even my doctor was surprised to notice that I have added weight.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a goal of constructing a kitchen where my grandson will be sleeping so that he won't have to sleep in neighbors homes.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving money from GiveDirectly is that I'm happy and I feel so proud I'm almost completing constructing a permanent house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have completed my house, so I won't have to be worried about meeting the cost of renovating my house.

The only new goal is to take my grandchildren to school and give them better lives. Knowing that education in our country is equal to empowerment.

Currently I can say my life is different in that, I receive unconditional transfers from GD this has enabled me build a new house, buy livestock for rearing and I am motivated. Initially I could not do all these because of lack of money.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will be able to achieve all my goals as i would have received my transfers, my sheep will probably have increased in number and my roof will no longer be leaking.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that i have faced was having to deal with the pain of losing all of my four children who died as a result of being diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. It was so painful to bury one after the other simply because i didn't have sufficient income to treat their delicate sickness.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at midday when my grandchildren come back home from school and i am able to get people to speak to,laugh with and even send on errands around the village.Whenever they are in school, the homestead feels so lonely.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on building a permanent house for my family. This is because the roof to my current house tends to leak a lot whenever it rains and the inner walls to the house also have wide cracks that i fear may cause the whole house to collapse on us one of this days in case it rains a lot .
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that i am proud of is being able to provide for my grand children's basic needs everyday despite not having a stable source of income aside from my farming.
