I did not have any new goals but I am glad that I was able to achieve the ones that I had before, in that, I have managed to build a decent kitchen, My husband and I don't have a reliable source of income, that is the reason we were unable to build a kitchen before, I also have a water tank, which means that I will be able to harvest rainwater. I am grateful that GiveDirectly has lifted my living standard to a better and a higher level in my society.

The support that we got from GiveDirectly has lifted the lives of so many people in our society, therefore, we don't take it for granted, we will forever be grateful for the support that brought sunshine to our village, so far I don't see any gap in GiveDirectly project.

I already had a plan in place on how I would spend my transfer, therefore, I had to stick to the first script to avoid impulse buying, therefore I used my transfer in buying a water tank worth KES 16,000. I then bought a battery and a solar at KES 15,000, In addition to that, I used KES in building a kitchen, lastly a bought foodstuffs and clothes. I am grateful for the support that brought so much happiness to my family.

I had been eagerly anticipating the receipt of the transfer after enrollment and over that time, I had been laying down plans with the help of my spouse. At the moment I received a message, I wasn't sure at first whether to be excited or not as I doubted the source. with my husband by my side, we had to check the account balance that gave us the assurance and all rights to celebrate and be excited about the great news. We manage to withdraw the amount on the same day, purchased irons sheets and other construction materials, and also brought home some foodstuff that marked the climax of our or celebration with our children.

After receiving the first transfer, I am glad and with great feeling that I have made quite a lot of changes in my household. The biggest difference in my daily life though is the construction of a decent house - spacious enough for my family. This will allow me to demolish the old one and later construct a new kitchen after moving into the new house. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this great support and I am hoping to still do a lot when I receive the second transfer.

Living with my family of 7 under a small roof was a bit of a challenge since my children who are all schooling needed at least some space every evening to do their studies, and also a spacious room to sleep separately from us. It has been our prayer as a family to one day get facilitated so that we can construct a bigger house that could give room for all that. On receiving the first transfer, the construction of a new house was a priority. It was unfortunate that all the shops selling construction materials hiked their prices knowing that most of the buyers received the transfers. I managed to obtain 28 iron sheets, frames, nails, and building poles at KES34000, and later paid the labor cost at KES 6000. I am glad that the construction work is at its final stages and will soon be moving in so that I can demolish the old one and construct another new kitchen with the same materials. With the remaining amount, I managed to obtain clothing, school pairs of shoes for my children, and also foodstuff for the household.
