How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Things have been difficult for me. I could not afford my daily meals. My children have been assisting me with food and some other provisions for my upkeep. I could not afford a place to stay. I have no new goals. My old goal has been to build a new house for myself. I was overwhelmed when I received my transfer. Unfortunately, someone stole all of my money and I could not get it back. This is disheartening. However ,I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for this astonishing opportunity. Hopefully after receiving my last payment my life will be better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It has come to improve our lives from poverty. That is an amazing opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Things have been a bit difficult for my family. I was excited when I received my payment. Sadly, I lost all of my money and I could not afford to buy zinc and some other building materials. Notwithstanding, my plan was to build a new house for myself.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I want to give thanks to God and givedirectly. I'm so happy that I was enrolled on this program. My plan was to build my own house in my village. Because the house I'm living in right now has leakage all over roof. And secondly the house is too small for my family and I. So that been my goal to build another house in my village for my children. And I'm so much grateful to God for the help that givedirectly is giving me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion givedirectly did very well in my life and that of our village. Givedirectly was able to enrolled our entire village. When I received my transfer I was able to buy three (3) bundle of zinc to build my house. I also used part of my transfer to paid my children school fees. I bought foodstuffs for my children. I was able to pay part if the workmanship.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting under a big tree infront of my house with my children when I received the massage from GiveDirectly. As a single mother with out support who husband abundant for few years before GiveDirectly came into my life. Since I received the money, i am always happy because i have started handling cash for my self to take care of my children. Thanks to GiveDirectly because my life is now getting better than before.

I Thank God that GiveDirectly came into my life. My life is now getting better. My children are always happy because I am always providing regular support through the transfer from GiveDirectly. I was surprised and can't still get over what GiveDirectly have done for me. Thanks to GiveDirectly because from the first money, i am a testimony to my children and I appearance. Through the transfer from GiveDirectly, i was able to buy one big matress and one bundle of Zinc with part of the money and save the balance money to buy food for the family. Before GiveDirectly came in my life, i was sleeping on a flat matress with my children and been suffering to get regular meals. Just from the first transfer, my life is now getting better.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"The house I build broke down three years ago because I never had money to maintain it, since then, I and my grandson have been sleeping in a single room in my niece house. When I receive my transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use portion of it to build a house and buy a mattress, portion of it will also be use to send my grandson to school and the remaining one will be used to buy some household items ".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"I have been getting my drinking water from the creek for many years, which was not too safe for us, but at the end of last year an NGO called German Argro build a handpump in the town where we get our drinking water, that makes me so excited".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"I am involved into farming, but the proceeds from the farm is not sufficient to cater to my household needs, build a house and send my grandson to school. Therefore, my current challenge is lack of finance".
