How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The previous house that I am staying in is seriously damage. I want to build a new house. I bought one bundle of zinc when I received my first transfer with a bag of rice for my feeding of my children. The second transfer I also bought a bundle of zinc with portion of the transfer and also a bag of rice. The remaining portion of it I used it for my children's education for a better future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion about what is not done well by GiveDirectly, I think there is nothing. Therefore, GiveDirectly have done so much well by enrolling every person that is of this town. Through the unconditional cash transfer program of GiveDirectly, my village is now having lot of houses with iron sheets roofs. Parents that could not afford to educate their children are now sending their children to school for a better future.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through the recent transfer from Givedirectly, I was able to use portion of it to purchase a 25KG bag of rice for my feeding of my children and my wife. My family have experiencing lot of hardships because of poverty. The remaining portion of my transfer, I used portion of it to buy a bundle of zinc for the construction of my house to stay in the future because the previous house that I have been living in is damaged.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was pitching my gari one morning when my phone suddenly rank, I ask my husband to check it out, as soon as he was about checking we heard our neighbors talking happiliy that they have just received their transfer. We were so excited to hear that great news, we hurriedly check ours and joined our neighbors in the excitement.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Life has been a challenge for us, especially living in a thatch house. Raining season, was a huge worry on my husband and I, today it is much of a relief to us seeing ourselves fortunate to be a beneficiary of GD. I'm so much grateful to God for Give Directly, they have done us well indeed.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My husband and I have had the desire to build our own decent house with zinc, but we never had the opportunity and means to do it. Now that our transfer has been sent by GD, we are definitely bargaining on accomplishing our long awaited dream, by buying building materials to start our house project.
