What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying two cows. I started poultry farming. I paid school fee, rented an acre of land for farming maize and sorghum. I also bought food.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that my cow is soon giving birth. This means an extra cow(calf) and also provision of milk.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well in giving cash to the needy and letting them decide on how to spend it. This has really uplifted the living standards of people. On the other hand I wish Gd could be giving us some money monthly to keep us going.

I spent my second transfer to pay 20,000 KES school fees for my son in secondary school. I spent the remaining amount to build a house where my children could seep. They used to sleep at my neighbour's house and monitoring their movements was not easy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that my children no longer have to go away from me to sleep. They sleep close to me. My son is also in school.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Our first plan is to use part of the transfer to buy six goats as an investment for our family, for future use. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to pay school fees for our child, whom we expect to join secondary school next year. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to build a house that would serve both as a kitchen, and a sleeping room for our children.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am very proud of is having established my own home with savings from my casual work, because now, I have my house as well as my own home.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced is providing food for our family on a daily basis, due to inadequate source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening, when we sit together and chatting as a family, after the day's activities.
