My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago because I have managed to save a good amount of money which is enough to facilitate the construction of a house. I feel proud because I believe I'll soon be independent since I'll be having my house. I have also in most cases spent part of the recent transfers on some of the households like foodstuffs whenever I'm not lucky to get some casual work to do. This has eased life and through this, I haven't burdened my mum by expecting her to take care of my needs.

I'm a casual worker but it's not reliable. In most cases, I can go two weeks without getting any work. This makes life challenging at times forcing me on my mum who is aged and doesn't have a reliable source of income. For the next four months of my life, I have an additional goal of rearing poultry. I'm planning to achieve this by using part of the coming transfers. Since poultry doesn't require a lot of capital and at the same time, they reproduce fast. I'm hopeful that after some time, I'll earn a good income from them which will enable me to meet my needs with a lot of comforts.

I have been saving the previous transfers so that I can use them to construct a house. I 'm currently staying in my brother's house but since I'm a grown-up, I feel I should be independent. I'm glad through the previous transfers I have saved a good amount of money that is enough to purchase most of the building materials. I, therefore, have the hopes of soon owning a house. This will make me independent.

I'm planning to start rearing poultry. Poultry reproduces fast hence I'm hopeful that I'll start benefiting from them in a short period of time. In the next six months, I expect to be benefitting from the poultry and hopefully, I'll have raised enough money to purchase most of the household items like seats, bedding, utensils which I do not have currently.

Currently, I do not have to depend on anyone for any financial support. I can also easily buy nutritious food for family consumption. Previously, I would work so hard to raise just a little income which sometimes turns out to be so minimal. I also used to borrow money from friends and relatives to buy food for my family. I am glad this has stopped as I receive the transfers on a monthly basis and caters for my every need.

I have a new goal of saving towards buying timber to add to the iron sheets I had bought beforehand to build the new house.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I saved and bought iron sheets that i plan to use in building a new house. At my age, I would feel ashamed about not having a house to my name but i did not have any option as I only earned meagre income from casual work that could hardly cater for our daily provisions leave alone buy building materials to build a house.

I expect to venture into poultry farming so that when the transfers from GiveDirectly are over, I can get a way of generating income for my family. I also look forward to building a new house as I shall have bought the timber and remaining iron sheets and other building materials. The shame of not owning a house will not weigh me down again.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the cash is that, I have been living in a poor condition house, but now I have bought iron sheets, and timber for building a new house. This was just but a dream. I also bought 5 hens to start poultry keeping. This will be a source of family nutrients and for income.

I have a vision and in the next six months, I will be concentrating on my personal projects. I may like to be an employer bit not employee.

My life is better compared to how I was in the past. Before that, I was focusing on one economic source, that is casual jobs which is not enough for my family needs.

I have a goal of starting poultry keeping. I do believe that this will enable me to have a sustainable income, and as a result, I will be capable of buying a cow for milk, and for cash if I will be having a huge spending on my children's education.
