My greatest goal would be to start selling eggs and also to start a poultry farm. The business is marketable because it has a ready market. Though, starting it will need at least a good capital which I don't have at the moment. To ensure that I realise this dream I will ensure that I manage well the dairy project and try to save at least something from its profit every month. Above all, I am satisfied with the one that I have achieved.

In my opinion, the support from GiveDirectly uplifted our living standards by changing our lifestyles. They gave us unconditional support without any form of discrimination. I did not identify the areas that they needed to correct or things that were not done with a high level of integrity.

My wife and I are consistent farmers in the village. Together, we have one child. Upon receiving our second transfer, we opted to use it on buying a dairy cow worth $450. This is because we wanted to cut down on the cost of buying milk daily and also to get a source of income by selling milk. It was not possible before to realise this dream before because of our financial status, in that, we depended on farming which is no longer productive because of the climatic change. Secondly, we bought foodstuffs and clothes with the remaining amount. I am so grateful for the support that highly lifted my living standards.

It was around 7:40 PM while we were at the table having our dinner earlier than usual because the subscription for our solar lamp was to end at 8:00 PM and since we did not have money to renew it we had to finish and sleep earlier. It was then that I got the confirmation message of having received my first transfer. I could not hide the joy and before sharing the message my spouse grabbed the phone from my hands. We then agreed to construct a bigger house at KES 25000 which included the cost of building materials and labor charges. KES 1000 we used to pay for a solar lump subscription which was to end in 30 minutes time from the time I received the first transfer. Since my spouse did not have any source of income, I bought her ten chickens at KES 5000 so that she can start up a poultry project. We are using the previous house for rearing the chicken. Since we are just starting up a family, we lacked most of the households which include utensils, bedding, and clothes. I, therefore, spent the remaining KES 13000 to purchase the households.
