How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I live a very small and uncomfortable apartment with my entire family. Hence, I decided to build a bigger and more spacious house with my previous transfers. Meanwhile, my recent transfer will be used to pay my children yearly tuition for this academic year. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to me and my family. I am grateful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I truly admire the various steps taken by GiveDirectly in selecting qualified household to benefit from this program. With these transfers, our lives has improved tremendously. I am much more grateful to be part of this unique program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Having all of my children attend school regularly this academic year has been my top priority. Therefore, as soon as I received my recent transfer, I immediately use a huge portion of it to pay my children school fees for the entire school year. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for this golden opportunity that has helped changed my livelihood.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I was able to complete the construction of my new house from the previous transfers I received. My goal now after recieving this transfer is to renovate my old house and have my children complete secondary school. When the renovation works are done, some of the children will move in there especially the bigger ones while the smaller ones will be in here with me. I thank GiveDirectly ever so much for providing me this money. Cassava farming has been the only source of livelihood for me and my children. I so grateful for this life changing opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by giving us the cash to decide by ourselves how to spend it. In this way no one will feel that they are being forced to buy what they do not want. People have different priorities they may want to prioritize when the opportunity is available. Moreover, GiveDirectly is fair and independent during the enrollment process. Every house in the town are visited to determine deserving households. I believe in this way no household is left out of the process.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy from the previous transfers three bundles of zinc, three cartoons of nails, bags of cement, planks for both roofing and furniture works, and five locks for the doors. With the most recent transfer I was able to buy zinc, cement bags, and the balance was used towards my children's education. I do believe that when my children are educated they will get better jobs opportunities and live better lives in the future.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had decided to work harder, earn enough money and renovate my house. In doing so, as soon as I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought few bags of cement to plaster my house and also put a concrete floor within the interior part of the house. Portion of my transfer was also used to purchase a big sized mattress for my family and I to relax comfortably at night. I am very relieved nowadays and I owe it all to GD for their financial assistance that has positively affected my live.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own judgement, GiveDirectly has been very transparent in their daily undertakings by making sure that deserving individuals/ household benefit from this life-changing opportunity. The energy and sacrifice they go through daily in reaching towns and villages to help transform the living condition of poor people like us is incredible. I am so grateful to everyone involved in bettering my life and I see nothing that GD isn't doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Renovating my house has being my primary objective. Meanwhile, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought 6 bags of cement for $9,000LD. Additionally, I purchased a very big family mattress for $15,000LD. Portion of my transfer was used to buy food (1 bag of rice $2,200LD). Lastly I used my balance transfer to transport my materials and myself back home.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited when I received this money. The excitement was due to the fact that I got to handle such an amount. In my whole life, I have never received such an amount of money as a gift.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first normally, I would always sit under my thatch kitchen thinking about my problems. But now, my life has improved, I am gathering things to build my new kitchen house
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the money to build a zinc kitchen house, because the one that I live in previously was a thatch kitchen house. It was so so rotten and indecent.
