Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home when I received the transfer notification on my phone. Upon seeing the 35,625, I felt so good and happy because I have the priority to send my children to school, build a new house and renovate the house my family and I are currently residing in but I had no money due to the hardships.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, my children's tuition has been a great challenge to my husband and me. The burden on our heads is more than the amount we are earning. However, receiving the transfer is a great help to me because I have been empowered to transform my family lives from one level to another.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the recent transfer to purchase planks to renovate my house and to roof the new house I'm planning to build and the balance was used to pay my son tuition and I also bought a mattress.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will like to build a bigger house with a shop attach to it. We lived in the same house with all of our six children. We already purchased four dozen of zinc for the house project. We will use $ 100,000 for the house project and the balance will be invested in to a business. The business will be our source of income that will subsidize our children schooling.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the month of May 2022, Plan International paid my husband back pay in the amount of $370 USD for the period of three months. This was a moment of joy and happiness for me. We used this money to settle the major school obligations for our children and purchased so.e food for the home. My overwhelming joy right now is the presence of GiveDirectly in our community. We are too happy that GiveDirectly has come to transform our livelihoods.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am a mother of six children and I am not educated yet. I am still struggling with my schooling while my husband too is in school. We don't have sufficient funding to sent all of our kids to school while we both are in school because of they three of my kids are not in school presently. My husband is Community Health Assistant ( CHA). The little compensation that Plan International give to him per month is what our entire family is surviving on presently.
