Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the happiness I feel having money at hand that I am spending unconditionally. Prior to getting this money, I had no luxury of spending money on some things like buying new items in the house but now, when my house extension is done, I will be able to buy what ever my heart desires.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy about GiveDirectly's approach (unconditional direct transfer) of helping the needy like myself.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to get back my land at Ugx 600000 that I had got for funeral arrangements of my late son. I then bought fifteen pieces of iron sheets that I plan to use to put an extension on my house. I am saving up the balance of Ugx 900000 that I plan to use to buy more material and pay up labor.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to renovate my house. I intend to make it bigger so that I can accommodate visitors. I will also buy a piece of land that I can cultivate in order to get food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when I have had a meal. I feel satisfied and I can have good and peaceful rest.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is poverty. I am not able to support myself the fact that I am a widow. From the time my husband past on, I struggle to make ends meet alone as an individual. I have no one to run to for help. The piece of land that I have is too small for me to depend on but it is all I have. I don't have money with which to buy more. Some times I don't have food in the house so I try my best to do casual labour just to get some food to eat. I have children who would be supporting me but they are not able. They are equally poor and they also have the responsibility of providing for their families.
