What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I recieved my third transfer, I spent on livestock; I bought a bull and 4 chicken at a total cost of 20000 KES. And used the rest of the money to complete the construction of my main house that I had started with the second transfer. As we talk, I am very proud of Give Directly since they have made me a farmer who lives in a more descent house.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the second transfer to buy cow- bull for farming and an ox plough, this will save me from hiring people to work on my farm, l also spent the transfer to buy 2 sacks of maize for my consumption. The remaining balance l spent to buy iron-sheet as l am planning to build my house.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that, l will no longer use money to hire people to work on my farm.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay school levies for two of my children in primary school. I then bought a bag of maize for food in the house and the remaining amount was spent on daily household needs.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy at the time I received the money from GiveDirectly. I was having very little money with me at the time and I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the Mpesa message.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that we face is lack of school fees. This is because we do not have a stable income and so most of the time our children are sent back home.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is because that is the time I get to count my day's income after a hard work and happy that I will put food on the table for my family and I.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means our livelihood will change. This is because we will be able to get enough food,clothes for our family and also pay school fees for our children.
