Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before receiving this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I had oxen and wagon which made my farming easy. However, when my children reached secondary level. The amount of school fees increased and I had no Option but to sell them off. This in the long run affected my farming because I had to just hire oxen from other people and that was done late. Never the less, my life has again improved because I spent my transfer on acquiring two calves which I am rearing for future use like ploughing my farm land. In addition, this term I completed to pay off my children's fees on time as opposed to when I paid in installments
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt happy because I was going to acquire what I never had like Livestock.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I purchased 2 calves worth UGX 1,000,000, paid school fees for my child who is in secondary level worth UGX 500,000 and bought shoes/household goods ( 2 pairs of bed sheets, utensils, soap) worth UGX 200,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy oxen for ploughing. My oxen were sold for Educating the children, so currently I do not have any oxen to facilitate ploughing. This has resulted in to low crop produce hence poor economic base. The oxen once bought will help my house to regnite crop farming hence increase in crop production. The produce I will be selling some for educating my other young children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest moments is always afternoon hours after garden work is done. My grand children chat interesting stories that creates some peace of mind.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is my son's sickness. I spend too much money on treatment of my son since he is epileptic. I can no longer do any saving to help in sustaining the family needs like providing better Education and feeding.
