What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to pay school fee for my daughter in secondary school. I am happy she was able to close the term without much arrears. Using part of the transfer,I bought her bedding. She can now sleep comfortably and go to school without worries.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting outside our house with my daughter who had been sent home from school for owing the school some arrears, wondering what I will do to send her back when after sometime, late in the evening I heard my message tone ring from my phone. It was a confirmation message that I had received cash from GiveDirectly,..laughs...I was so happy..I shouted my daughters name and told her to get ready as she will be leaving for school the next morning..Thank You GiveDirectly!!!!!

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have school going pupils but don't have a stable source of income, this has put me in a tight angle in raising school fees especially with the prolonged draught.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the morning, when I wake up I give thanks to the almighty for the gift of life and energy to conduct my daily activities.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
It means that I'll be in a position to go an extra economic step that I have not been able to do before. Example; I'll buy building materials and cement the mud house I live in currently.
