How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different in that I have new clothes for my family. We have for long used the same type of clothes because we did not have the resources and income to ensure we buy new clothes. The ones we had were old but we had to put up with what we had. In the last four months, I was able to spare some money to buy my family new clothes which have really brought a lot of happiness for my grandchildren.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to buy household items such as cushions and utensils. These are the items I feel I really need in my house because the ones I have now are worn out.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The fact the I receive money on a monthly basis is the biggest difference in my life. In the past, I have always depended on my farm as my main source of income. Since we only harvest twice a year, my income has not been much. The harvest too has reduced over the years because we use the same farm over and over again. This is why I rarely get money unless I had to sell my properties to get money. GD has changed the story for me. I do not struggle as before because I do get money regularly on a monthly basis. This has helped to solve most of my household needs and reduce my needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I plan to save my transfers so that I can ensure I buy new household items such as cushions and utensils. The ones I have are worn out and we no longer enjoy sitting in the house because of worn-out cushions. The utensils too are broken and I only have a handful hence I plan to buy new ones.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Within the past four months, I have managed to buy some very crucial household items such as large cooking pots and decent utensils that I never had before and would be forced to borrow from my neighbours whenever I had visitors. Buying such kind of petty household items is a hefty task that is mostly forgotten but very important and I am glad I bought them because I don't have to annoy or bother my neighbours any more.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
We are almost harvesting our farms produce this season and soon after, we will start preparations for the next farming season. My plan is to use the transfers within that set period of time to hire a tractor to plough my farm, buy hybrid and quality farm inputs and hire labourers to help in the farm work because I am not healthy enough to do it on my own. This will be in preparation for the tough times we anticipate next year after the transfers are over so that we can have enough food and even extra to sell in case we are in financial crisis.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the past four months, I have not been so healthy which has made it hard for me to engage in any income-generating activities. The transfers have always made it easy for me to buy medication and other household needs such as foodstuff during that period which I know would have been so tough without GD. My husband also has no stable source of income and mostly depends on small scale farming which is an indication of what our lives would be like without the transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the great plans I have for the next farming season which is due in a couple of months, I hope to have a better harvest that can sustain my family after the transfers are over. I know life will be tough for us after the project and my hope is to have enough cereals for my family's use or even excess to sell in case of any monetary emergencies or just for normal household needs.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I am at peace and stress-free. Nowadays, I don't lack sleep because I don't think too much on budget-related issues. Previously, I could struggle to make ends meet. I used to wake up very early in the morning and come back home very late in the evening with very small earnings from casual jobs. Most of my time was spent doing odd jobs which were hectic and time-consuming, I literally did not have time to rest because I could just think of how my family will eat. I am glad that Give Directly came to my rescue since now I can plan well with the transfers. I am happier and more settled in life compared to when I only depended on the wages from casual jobs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to invest in farming. I have fertile land and focusing on it will guarantee me a good harvest. It is a planting season and I wanted to pay workers who will help me plough my farm. I am glad that I can now afford to pay for labour without straining my budget. In case I get good returns I will sell some of the produce and save a few bags to feed my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I feel proud of my self. I have more ambitions and hopes in life after I managed to buy household items that I lacked in my house. Recently, I specifically bought more utensils and now I don't have to borrow from my neighbours. To me that's a big achievement. I did not know that one day I would be the one lending the utensils to the neighbours. At least even if I ask for some other things, I also have something to give to someone.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have bought cushions to place on my seats. I have always wanted to replace the old cushions but there are more pressing needs that have to be attended to such as food and paying schools fees. The old ones are usually uncomfortable and not so good looking but I am happy because I will replace them soon.
