I am really grateful for what my first transfer enabled me to accomplish. My son who is in form 4 had been sent home for school fees at a time when I never had money to clear the balances to enable her prepare and sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Exams and this was stressing me a lot so when I recieved the money, I cleared the arrears and as we talk, I am glad that he is going on with the exams.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from Give Directly, I felt very happy since the money would solve my problems of educating my son who was in form four. In fact, I ran immediately to the nearby center to withdraw it!
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I don't need to struggle to raise money and save daily for the education of my son who is in form four since the school fees has been cleared.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on paying school fees for my four children who are in secondary school and one who is in college and the remaining amount I will spend on repairing my house as I will buy bags of cement that will be used in plastering the floor.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
I have been able to take my children to school up to college level using cash that I have been getting from our farming business.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is that our income is very low and this at times forces us to go to bed without a meal.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I go to my farm in the morning to plough it. This makes me happy as I am able to support my family using the food that I get from the farm.
