How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before the program started, my goal was to build a new house for my family because the house I am living in is not in a good condition at all; but through the help of GiveDirectly transfer, I was able to start the house project, my goal is to complete it and move in it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by helping us unconditionally without any strings being attached to it, I also admire the way the field officers talk during interviews with us at all times which is very gentle, I don't know anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well, everything is fine to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to set up a fish business to support my family, I also save some for future purposes, I used some to seek medical attention for my mother in law who was seriously sick, and I bought some building materials for my house project and the balance was used to buy some foodstuffs for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I crush palm kanel to make oil to survive and my husband is a Palm cutter. This is the means of survival for me and my family. My family and I are going through a lot of hell. I have three living children that are in elementary school. Finding tuition and feeding the family is a serious problem for me and my husband because of the lack of money. When I receive my first transfer I was very much happy because of the hard struggle I been passing through alone with my family. At least I can now rest from crushing palm kanel and my husband can now rest from climbing tall palm trees for our survival. I just want to say thank you to GiveDirectly for putting a smile on my face and husband and for giving my children a better future.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have been living an unhappy life because of the hard time. I have not been able to achieve those goals that I been planning for because of the kind of poverty that I am going through. But now, I am no more worrying about anything because I am greatly being helped by GiveDirectly to brighten up my future.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my most recent transfer, I was able to buy one bundle of zinc because I been planning to build a decent house that will accommodate my family and I. I also used portion of the money to pay my children's school fees and I also bought one radio to listen to the news around the world because I want to be inform about incidents around the world.
