How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The difference in my life since I received transfers from GiveDirectly is that I have made some serious steps in life. I spent my first transfer to buy a second hand motorcycle which is my main source of livelihood. Before GiveDirectly came and sent me transfers, I was riding someone's motorcycle, from which I had to share my daily earning with the motorcycle owner. However, from my own motorcycle, I have been able to make more money which I do not need to share with anyone. I thank God for GiveDirectly for making me self-independent through its transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in helping the needy who were once looked down upon by the society. From the transfers they receive, their dignity and self esteem are restored in the society and they can afford to live happily and comfortably. I have not heard or seen anything that GiveDirectly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on ploughing a half an acre of land in readiness for plantation of sugarcane. For several years, I have been desiring to start sugarcane farming but have not been able to do so since I have been experiencing serious financial constraints. In addition, I spent the rest of the transfer on buying three mature cows and five sheep which to me is a good investment for my family. When they give birth, I will be able to obtain milk which I will sell to earn some extra money to support my family. I will also consider selling some cows to get money which I will spend on educating my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means liberation from the bondage of hard labor. I am motorcycle rider with no personal motorcycle. I depend on commission that is not very predictable. I would therefore like to spend the transfer on buying my own motorcycle.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I make some money out of the motorcycle operation and buy food for my family. The essence of provision to my family brings me joy and happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of reliable source of income. I have to pay some money to the owner of motorcycle that ride. This is so much challenging especially during a day with low customers.
