What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I spent 20000 KES on an oxen, 16000 KES on 4 goats, 6000 KES on 2 sheep and I paid secondary school fees for my son in form 4 with the remaining 6200 KES.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My goals never changed. We accomplished our initial goals together with my spouse.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have managed to get a break through with the transfers I got from Give Directly. My son is now acquiring O-level certificate courtesy of Give Directly. Finally, I have managed to acquire more livestock that has improved my safety net and I am no longer vulnerable to economic shocks. I am planning to pay school fees for my son and daughter who are in secondary schools.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having worked for the civil service for quite a while and after retirement I had saved enough money to buy a piece of land where I established my homestead.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my children who are in secondary schools, if I am unable to raise the required fees they may drop out of school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning because I have been able to wake up and see another day.
