What does receiving this money mean to you?
If we are successful to be the recipient of the cash transfer, we will renovate our house with some. I house is now old and the roof is leaking. Besides that, the family size has increased. As such, the house cannot accommodate all of us again. . I really want to fix my house, but money business is very difficult. That is the only thing holding me down now. So besides building house, when the money is enough I will send my children to school. Because now, I got no permanent sources of income. The cassava we processed to fufu for sale doesn't have good price again. Due to that, it is very difficult to raise money for our children school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, January of this year we were very happy because during that time the sea near us here was dry. And when the sea goes dry, we catch fish for eating while selling some. But the way the sea is filled now and our fufu not going for good money, nothing making us happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge here is money. We say money because everything here is about money. To find food to eat, we buy it . And to send our children to school it requires money. As such, raising money ischallenge for us. Not that we are just sitting for money to come to us but, we do other things like coal burning, making cassava farm to earn, but all of those things prices have dropped drastically these days in the Sass town market we go to sell them. And when carrying the goods there, the bike riders charged us high transport fair. As the result, we don't realised enough cash when we sell those items earlier mentioned.
