What did you spend your second transfer on?
I can say that I spent my third transfer on food and education of my child. I don't have a stable source of income and therefore putting food on the table had been a challenge to me. My child's education had even made it worse and it is the reason I spent the money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I like the fact that Give Directly does follow-up after transfers, investigate and solve any transfer related problems. However, it would be prudent it invest more energy in in-person follow-up than over the phone, to ascertain the development on the grounds.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never got the transfers in that currently, I live in a better house. Using the first transfer, I managed to cement the house which was initially dusty and totally changed its phase making it a better place to live.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on buying bedding and added stock onto my small retail business of which I now make daily income comfortably as compared to before the transfer when the sales were low since my customers were not getting their preferred items due to low stock .I also bought food for my family's consumption.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first transfer, I felt very happy and thanked God for the life changing blessing that was a grantee of my living standard changing positively.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face is, the embarrassment of having to borrow money from women's group so as to fend for my family. This is because the only source of income that we rely on is the motorcycle business ran by husband.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening, when I come back with food and I do not have to worry that my children will go hungry or beg food from neighbours.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this transfers means joy to me because it will change my status from low to middle class. I will earn an extra income by reviving my shop business which had once collapsed and fend for my family.
