How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer in that, I am now a proud owner of a dairy cow. Due to this, I no longer buy milk like before since the vow I bought using the transfers has calved. Due to this, my family now have enough milk for consumption and sale.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by uplifting us to a different level and I do not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Ibought a dairy cow using my second transfer as a way of expanding my dairy farming. Also, I spent some amount to buy some chicken. I will be using eggs as substitute of vegetables and sell some at times in order to earn an income. I still have some amount that I am planning to use in buying seats after I finish building a house for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was so costly for me. I depend on the casual jobs in the village to earn an income to meet the basic needs. I could wake up early in the morning to look for casual jobs in the village and came back late at night. This was making me not to work on my own farm and even bond with my family. When there was no manual jobs we were forced to miss milk and even food for the whole day because there was no other source of income. Currently, I have enough milk for my family and I sell the surplus to meet other additional needs for the family. My children no longer miss milk like before. I have devoted much of my time on my own farm and reduced the casual jobs that I had been doing before. I am so much grateful for the support because it has changed our standard of living.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt so happy. I remember it was very early in the message when I heard a message from my phone. When I checked it I felt so happy because I have never received such an amount of money before. I would be in a position to build a better hose for my family. My children also were so happy and they really celebrated it well.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spend my first transfer to build a better and spacious house for my family. We used to live in a small house that could not host all my family members comfortably. I also bought a dairy cow and the rest of the money I used it to buy food for the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that i will be able to build up savings from the money i usually spend in buying milk for my family consumption since i will be able to buy my own cow for milking, which will in turn help me generate some income upon selling milk. I will use the remaining part of my transfer to build another spacious iron roofed house since the small hut we live in is one roomed and it is quite a shame whenever we have visitors around since we have to request our neighbours to host them at night.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Being a housewife, i spend my mornings doing household chores after my spouse has left for work. I am always happy in the evening when he is back from work since its time he comes back to rest as he bonds with our two children as i prepare our evening meal
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Financial empowerment and independence is something i have always yearned for in order to support my spouse who is a mason in providing for the family. I have always wished to initiate poultry farming since i know it is a great income generating project upon selling poultry products but i haven't been able to realise this dream due to lack of capital, which is the greatest challenge i face
