Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I am looking forward to buying a piece of land. We are currently staying in a very small piece of land that does not allow us to diversify our farming. We have plans of selling the livestock that we already have and getting some other savings to be able to at least buy half an acre and diversify our farming in the long run. This, we are sure will change our lives in the long run by allowing us to diversify and improve our farming practices leading to increased income for the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the water tank that I bought with GiveDirectly transfers. My wife and children could travel for up to 2 kilometers a day in search for water. This often left them very tired and exhausted and they could not do an extra thing after travelling for such long distances. This had disturbed me a lot and I had thought of buying a water tank. However, the little amount of money that I made from my small business was hardly enough to do this. On receiving this money, I took it as a first priority to buy a water tank and since then my wife and children have had water to drink and for other household chores all year round. This has also given them the opportunity to do other things at home. I was also able to buy one dairy cow with the help of these transfers which has since reproduced and the offspring are going to be helpful in meeting other needs of the family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to lead a happier family than it currently is. I expect that I shall be more independent financially as well as be in a position to pay school fees for my children who are advancing in their education. The proceeds from my small business and diversification of farming shall enable me realize this soon enough.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest harsship I have ever faced is when I planted maize back in 2017. I ended up losing all the maize in my farm because of a crop disease. I was devastated because I had planned to use the proceeds in meeting my obligations as a parent.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning because I have woken up healthy. This is the time that I am filled with energy and can do my work with all the passion and dedication.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
When I receive my transfer, I am planning to use part of the money to buy a water storage tank given that we have a water shortage in our area. I will also use the remainig amount to expand my business - I usually repair phones.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My biggest achievement is that I own my own phone repair shop. I consider this as an accomplishment because it is my source of income. My family is able to get their basic needs out of the proceeds I get from my business.
