How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
First of all,I am so grateful to God for this amazing opportunity. In the coming year and beyond, I am hoping to get more money to pay contractors to make bigger farms for me. The produce from this farm will be harvested and taken to local markets for sale. Money generated from the sales will be used for my family upkeep and my son tuition.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does not do anything wrongly. It's program has changed our lives for the best. We are so grateful for this opportunity. One of our major problems is cashing out our transfer. We travel over eight(8) hours on motorcycle to and fro just cash out.
Due to the bad road condition in our country, we spend a lot of money on transportation and most times we get sick by the time we are back. One major thing GiveDirectly could do for the next village to make the process better is to include in its partnership with the GSM company, if possible, that every time transfer goes out the company can send an agent to our village to assist us in cashing out our money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My husband is a teacher. The salary he makes is not much. We could hardly afford our daily upkeep. Things started to get a bit difficult for us. I was happy when GiveDirectly came to my town. Being enrolled in this program is a dream become reality.
I used some of my money to buy a new mattress. I used a little amount to buy a smart phone for my son. The remaining money was used to pay contractors brush a plot of land for me. Hopefully when I receive my last payment I will pay them to plant cassava.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have all of my children in Monrovia attending school and they are depending on me for fees. My spouse and I are no longer strong enough to make a farm that we can get enough money from to take care of all of those responsibilities. Moreover, the house my spouse and I live in now is small and cannot host my many children whenever they come for vacation.
Therefore, when I get the cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I plan to spend it on my children's fees and use the balance to build a bigger house for my family here in Kaichurchkon town.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My oldest daughter in a nearby community has been pregnant and I have been asking God for save delivery. Two months ago I got communication from her spouse that she has given birth. Moreover, one of my sons who attend school in monrovia has been promoted. These two things over the past six month has brought happiness in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Due to my spouse and my self age, we can no longer make a farm to take care of most of our responsibilities furtherrmore, we don't have money for our children's fees and to build a bigger house for them whenever they come for vacation here in Kaichurkon. These are our current challenges.
