Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my cash transfers I was so excited and thankful. This was so as in my entire life I have never slept on a mattress and to sleep on a mattress now its a big achievement as I never thought a day like that will ever come in my life but Give Directly has made it happen for me may God bless the organisation.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is that I used to sleep on a mat and I was using wrappers as my beddings but now with my transfer I received from Give Directly I managed to buy a mattress and a blanket and am able to have peaceful sleep as when it's cold am not bothered at all. May God bless the organisation.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After I received my cash transfer from Give Directly I managed to buy 6 bags of cement at K7500 each, 1 goat at 24,000kwacha , 1 mattress at K42,000 and 1 blanket at K21,000. This was so as the house I used to live in was not in a good condition and with the cement I bought have managed to improve it's condition and am very thankful for being in this programme.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money will meant having food on the table and also the money will help me pay for my children school fees. My first born son dropped out from school because of school fees and currently he is doing piece work (brick making) and he is being paid peanuts just for him to find money to pay for exams. The money will help me to cover full amount and also to buy food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am mostly happy in the afternoon.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I faced is not having a stable marriage life and that has affected my financial status.
