How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has significantly changed in that, I am a debt free man after clearing my debt burden. My family's nutrition has greatly improved because we feed well compared to the past when we could eat regular foods that were not that nutritious. In addition to this, I can freely communicate with my distant relatives using the GiveDirectly phone. It should be noted that before GiveDirectly launched in our village, I had no personal phone. I used to borrow phones so as to communicate with my relatives which was very embarrassing. I attribute all these achievements to GiveDirectly's generosity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has to a large extent done well to send the poor people cash transfers that have helped them alot. Personally, the cash transfers uplifted me because I had no money to enable me cultivate my farm lands. I would like to appreciate GiveDirectly for always delivering cash transfers directly to the people.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to purchase a cow worth UGX 800000 and food worth UGX 20000. I gave my sister UGX 20000 for her medication and I also spent UGX 63000 on treating my children. I paid the brick layers UGX 15,000. I saved UGX 20000. At hand I have UGX 600000 which I am saving for any emergecny.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has changed because I can afford to have a balanced diet. Before, I used to depend on vegetables and for once silver fish. Secondly I have peace of mind because I have paid off all the debts I had. In the past I used to keep hiding myself from people I owed because I had nothing to give.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt very happy because I got financial support for clearing debts which were stressing me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have saved worth UGX 1,000,000 which I will add to my second transfer for building permanent house, cleared debts worth UGX 489,000, gifts worth 50,000, food(meat) worth UGX10,000, treatment worth UGX 3000, Leisure (alchoal and soda) worth UGX 20,000. There is a balance which I'm planning to spend on purchasing household goods(bed and pair of bed sheets).
