How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, my life has changed because I am able to have money at hand that I make through offering a service to my entire community using my grinding machine. This has helped me to meet most of my basic needs. Before getting this transfer to buy my machine, I used to just work in other people'sgardens to raise money to meet my personal needs. In addition to having my income generating activity, I am back in school which was my dream should I ever get money. This would have never happened and it would be a shattered dream since I had no where to get the money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has made my dream of going back to school a reality. On the other side, there is absolutely nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer to add up with the first transfer to buy a grinding machine. I then bought two goats. I hired a piece of farm land. I paid up my personal school fees since I decided to resume schooling after getting my second transfer.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have bought clothes that have improved on my dressing code. I am also happy because I am in the process of starting construction work of a permanent house. Before, I used to sleep in a grass thatched house that would need renovation after every year.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my cash transfer, I felt happy because I had received support that would transform my life. Before, I used to rely on agriculture that had never yielded to that sum of money.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 350,000 for buying a cow which will facilitate milk production in the future. I bought bedding worth UGx 182,000 and clothes worth UGX 70,000. The balance of UGX 1,098,000, I have spent it on buying building materials like iron sheets, ventilators, whoop irons, nails, timber, not forgetting transport for the same items, all this is geared towards constructing a permanent house.
