What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used a portion of my second transfer on clearing the school fee arrears for my two children who are in secondary school. I did this so that next year I won't have a lot of burden. I also plastered my house because it was so dusty and I used to find smearing hectic and also consumed a lot of time. I bought a solar panel for lighting that helps my children while studying. I find it convenient because it does not produce any soot, which is harmful to the eyes in fact one of my children had been affected by it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well in giving cash to the needy and let them decide on how to spend it. I really do not see what Gd does not do well.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I didn't receive the transfer in that I wouldn't be having the kind of house I have currently. My previous house was old and dusty, but since I didn't have a proper income I couldn't manage to renovate.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on building a kitchen. I had small grass thatch kitchen and being that my children sleeps in the kitchen I felt it's prudent to build them a decent kitchen. I used part of the money to buy both my mattress and my children's too because the one we had were alredy depleted. During that time my children were at home for fee break so I paid their school fee with part of the money and used some of the money to buy maize for consumption.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my children and repair my outdoor kitchen which doubles up as a bedroom for my children. If I am unable to raise enough cash my children might drop out of school and also continue sleeping in the dilapidated kitchen cum bedroom.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning because the Lord has blessed me and my family with life.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will stop worrying about obtaining school fees for my children who are in secondary school. I will be able to pay their school fees and thus, they won't have to defer their studies.
