What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have been living in a house that is in a very deplorable condition from 1992 up to present. All the sticks and the thatch over the house have gotten rotten. My entire family and I have lived in this house for years and have not been able to construct a new house due to lack of finance. Even up to date, we are still residing in a house that was built in 1992. The house doesn't have a zinc and due to the financial constraint my family and I are faced with, I could only afford to roof the house with a thatch. If I qualify for this program, I will use the money to renovate the house and also change the roof from thatch to zinc. Portion of it will go toward the payment of my children's school fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Sending my children to school from my pocket has always been a challenge for me as a father and this has gone on for years upon years. Seeing other family members sending them to school and making a successful pass at the end of the Academic Year has been the happy moment for me. Besides making a successful pass in school, but seeing them helping me to read most of my communications and writing communications for me brings me so much joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My children have been living with other family members to enable them go to school and obtain quality education due to the fact that I can not afford to send them to school. This has been happening for more than ten (10) years now. Even up to present, I can not afford to sponsor by children in school. Besides, the thatch used over the house as roof is not guarantee and it is often eaten by rats and it gets rotten very fast. Raising money to sponsor my children in school and changing the roof over my house is my biggest challenge right now.
