What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will mean the opening of a new door to me. Starting a small investment project has been my desire for years. I will open a small business, selling green vegetables and fruits. This is triggered by the fact I have had an experience with this job. With an initial stock of 2000 KES, I will be able to save approximately 300 KES. From the subsequent transfers, will save 1000 KES every month to expand my business while the rest shall redirect them in supporting basic needs for my son and myself.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Immediately am done with the house chores,( cooking for the children, washing and dressing my child), I usually head for shamba. The sun, hunger and tiresome work done always make me long for afternoon hours when am able to take a rest.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My mother, a widow, could not afford school fees, leave alone putting food on the table. Went to town to get a job after dropping out of school in standard seven. I got unplanned pregnancy while in town. At the age of seventeen, I found my way back to the village, as a mother and without any reliable source of income. My baby dad has not been supportive. My son is one year old. Besides basic needs, he will need to be supported for his education. The struggle I have been facing to make ends meet is the greatest hardship I have gone through in life.
