How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different in that I now own a kitchen. Therefore I can cook at any time that I intend to unlike before cooking in my main house was hazardous to my family's health which forced me to cook early before the sunsets.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to aim higher and get to my goal of replacing my grassed thatched roof into an iron sheet one. This means I intend to be discipline with the finances I get from GiveDirectly through buying the required building materials every month
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Previously, I have been living in a one-room house which served as a kitchen, living, and bedroom to my family. Today, I have a different story to tell because the biggest difference in my daily life for the last four months is that I have successfully built a kitchen which I have ever dreamt of. This has been enhanced by buying building materials which included iron sheets, nails, timber and paid laborers to build it using the transfers that were sent. Thanks to GiveDirectly because the kitchen serves as a bedroom for my children at night and a cooking place as well.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I shall have fixed an iron sheet roof and replace the grassed that one by buying building materials every month with the sent transfer. This is because at the moment the leaky grass-thatched roof of my house is in a deplorable condition which has made it risky for our habitation.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
With the little amount of money I get from the casual jobs I do, it is usually hard for me to buy clothes since what I make is barely enough for food. The biggest difference, therefore, is the fact that I was able to buy some clothes that I have really wanted to buy for a long time. I was also able to buy some construction materials which have given me the hope of having my own house soon.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am currently living in my grandmother's house because I have not managed to build a house of my own due to low income. This has made it hard for me to buy the necessary materials for house construction. Even though I have been doing the best I can to buy the materials, I have not managed to buy enough and I wish to buy the remaining ones so that I can start and complete the project as soon as possible.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Due to low income from casual jobs that are usually low paying or unreliable, it has usually been so tough for me to buy decent clothing for my family. A few months back, we only had a few clothes that we would wear often and most of them were not in such good conditions, so I decided to invest all of my last three transfers on clothes and shoes. My family now dresses better and we look more decent compared to months back.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
It is very embarrassing that at my age, I am still living in my grandmother's house with my wife. The shame has affected how I relate with my fellow villagers as most of them make fun of me. I am doing all that I can to ensure that in the next six months, I will have constructed a house of my own house and live a normal life.
